         Cayuga County Man, 90,
          Faces Death In Snow
          
         DANIEL WHALEN of Scipio Center in
          Critical Condition With Hand
            and Foot Frozen
            
         Scipio Center, Feb. 16 - DANIEL WHALEN, one of
       the oldest residents of Cayuga county, is in 
       critical condition at his home here. MR. WHALEN,
       who had been quite feeble, fell in a snowbank
       near his home last week and, unable to regain
       his feet, remained in the snow about three hours
       before he was found. One hand and one foot were
       badly frozen. There are indications that gangrene
       may develop, making his recovery doubtful, according
       to the attending physician.
