              DEATH OF JUDGE SAUNDERS
              
              This distinguished man died at his residence
            in this City on Sunday evening last, at the ad-
            vanced age of 76 years.
              JUDGE SAUNDERS has filled a large space in the
            public eye in this State for the last thirty
            years. In addition to his services in Congress,
            on the Bench, and in the State Legislature, he
            was at all times an ardent friend of internal
            improvements, and the system of improvements in
            the State owes much of its success in the past
            to him.
              In private life he was exemplary and above
            reproach. Though his death was expected from
            his increasing infirmities, its announcement
            will occasion a feeling of regret in all parts
            of our State.
