Then south sixty degrees east forty-eight poles to a black jack in Porter's line then along Porter's line to the Creek then the various courses of the Creek to the first Station. This indenture made the fifth day of February 1827 between JOHN EVERITT & wife MARTHA of the one part and LEVI LEIGH of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to the said John Everitt and wife Martha in hand paid to the said John Everitt and wife Martha hath bargained sold released enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth bargain sell release enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said Levi Leigh a certain parcel or tract of land lying and being in the County of Pitt on Coneto Creek and bounded as follows beginning at a cypress at Whitmell Hopkins corner in Coneto Creek thence up said creek 52 poles to a pawpaw gum thence sixty two East 193 poles to a small red oak saplin in Nancy Hopkins line thence south four and a half west to a black gum Whitmel Hopkins line to the first Station containing sixty acres more or less which land descended from Arnold Hopkins to Martha Hopkins heir at law to have and to hold to the said Levi Leigh his heirs and assignees forever and we the said John Everitt and wife Martha for ourselves and our heirs executors and administrators do agree covenant to will warrant & defend the title of the said above mentioned land to the said Levi Leigh his heirs executors administrators and assignees against the lawful claim or claims of all persons whatsoever. Bounded as follows beginning at a black gum in the run of Conetoe Creek a corner, formerly WILLIAM STANCILLS corner thence with and down the run of said creek to Frederick Hopkins corner thence with his line South two hundred & six poles (206) to his other corner a water oak in the said Elisha Porters line formerly William Stancills line thence North 54½ East to a pine and dogwood formerly Stancills corner thence with an agreed line to the beginning Containing by estimation fifty one & a half acres be the same more or less .
