H. C. Cooper, Jr. & Co., Winona, MN - 1919 [page 154-155] CHARLES ROEMER, one of the early settlers of Wabasha county, where he developed a farm from the woods, was born in Hanover, Germany, about 1845, and was twelve years old when he came to the United States, locating in Minnesota. He was married in this country to CAROLINE REISENGER, a native of the same German state as himself, and who had come to America at the age of 25. Securing a tract of 120 acres in Pepin, Wabasha county, MR. ROEMER built a log house and began pioneer farming with the indispensable ox team. In time he increased his holdings until he was the owner of over a section of land, and as late as 1904 he purchased a farm which is now occupied by his son, THEODORE B. ROEMER. In his day he was one of the prominent citizens of his township, serving on both the town and school boards. His death occurred in 1907, when he was 67 years old. His wife, who is still living, resides on a farm at Wabasha, Minn. Their children were: THEODORE B., HENRY, JOSEPH, BENJAMIN, CHARLES, CLEMENT, FRANKLIN and MARY, of whom JOSEPH is now deceased. Transcriber's Note: This biography was found in the book sourced above, however, it does not appear from the biography that Charles Roemer had any involvement with Buffalo or Pepin county Wisconsin. He is buried in Saint Felix Cemetery, Wabasha, MN. ===========================================================================
