The Irish Standard
Saturday, 2 September 1905

         JOHN LANDY, an old resident of this section of
       the state, died August 16 from a stroke of apo-
       plexy received the day before. MR. LANDY was born
       in county Tipperary, Ireland, and was about 60
       years of age at the time of his demise. Coming
       to Minnesota in 1868 he settled on a farm at
       Birch Cooley, where he made his home until 1898,
       when he moved to Morton. He is survived by his
       wife and eight children, namely: MRS. J. P.
       DELANEY who resides on the old LANDY homestead
       in Birch Cooley; MRS. MARTIN RYAN of Morton;
       MRS. IRVIN OLSON of Madison, Minn.; MRS. C. A.
       DESMOND, MRS. AUGUST FEHLHABER and MICHAEL T.
       LANDY, of Franklin; CORNELIUS P. LANDY of Eyota,
       Minn., and J. R. LANDY of Buffalo Lake. The
       funeral of the deceased took place on August 18
       from St. John's Catholic church and his remains
       were laid to rest in Birch Cooley cemetery.
