HENNEPIN COUNTY POORHOUSE was visited April 20, 1892. There were 45 inmates; 8 women and 37 men. The largest number during the past winter has been 53. The number has usually ranged from 80 to 90. The decrease in num- bers is ascribed partly to the work of the "Little Sisters of the Poor." The house had been renovated and repaired. The broken plaster had been renewed. The halls and dining room were neatly papered. The house was very neat and clean and free from odors. The dinner was inspected. it consisted of pea soup with pork, boiled potatoes, beets, excellent bread pudding, tea with sugar and milk. The food was abundant, well cooked and well served. The adminstration of the house appeared to be excellent in every respect. ==========================================================================
