Monday night he was pulling his wife around by the hair, near the new saw mill, when a switch crew on the M. & I. interfered and came near taking the law in their own hands. Had it not been for a few cool heads the wife-beater might have had a go for his money. A woman 75 years old was found by the night police in company with a male companion. Both were landed in jail and the fined $5 and costs by Judge ACKENBACH, and the woman was given a chance to leave town. FRANK RICHARDS got 30 days this morning for lifting a watch from a drunken lumberjack last night. His story of taking the watch to keep until the other fellow sobered up didn't stick with the court. ===========================================================================
