SINCUSH, Audubon constable, was shot in the leg today by one of four men concealed behind an elevator. Sheriff EDWARD SWANSON of Becker county said that infor- mation obtained from an automobile abandoned by the men may lead to their capture within a few hours. SINCUSH, 45 years old, had been informed that some men were attempting to rob the Audubon garage. Audubon is six miles from here. On his way to the garage, SINCUSH found the car which brought the bandits to Audubon and removed the ignition key. Then he continued his search for the owners. He was alone. At the elevator he discovered four men were revealed crouching near the wall. One of them pulled a gun and shot twice, one bullet striking SINCUSH in the leg. While neighbors, aroused by the shooting, gave the con- stable first aid, the four men fled up an alley and entered another car, which belonged to L. ANDERSON of Arnegaard, N.D., who is visiting Audubon, and drove away. ==========================================================================
