BUTTERFIELD'S Company of the Eighth Regi- ment, Co. A., died of fever in the hospital at Murfreesboro. He had been sick for several weeks, but in the meantime had so far recovered as to warrant his attendants in giving hope to anxious friends. He was however stricken suddenly down and died, leaving a wife and two children. This sad news was confirmed by a letter written by Capt. BUTTERFIELD to his wife at this place. The bereaved friends have the sympathies of the whole community, where he was universally known and respected. He was spoken of by his comrades, as a true soldier and an esteemed friend. Gone to his rest. ===========================================================================
