Anoka, Minn., - Sept. 7. - In view of her mother, who was making a frantic but futile effort to rescue her child, the three-year-old daughter of Mrs. EARNEST BENNETT of Oak Grove was attacked by a mad dog, who time and time again buried his fangs in the child's forehead. The dog had previously attacked and bitten another little girl named TRODJAR. Mrs. EARNEST BENNETT was coming home in a buggy from St. Francis. When near her home she saw a big dog, with bloody froth drooling from his loosely hanging jaws and bloodshot eyes. Her children were in the yard at play and she made a frantic effort to reach them, but before she could do so the dog had thrown the child to the ground and inflicted several wounds in her forehead. The dog then started for a child of WALTER GASLIN, but Mr. GASLIN succeeded in getting the child out of harm's way. The dog then bit another dog belonging to HERBERT BREYAM. GEORGE SEELYE secured a shotgun and after pursuing the animal for a mile he killed it. The BARRETT girl was hurried to a physician who dressed the wounds. Fears are expressed that the bites may prove fatal to both girls. ==========================================================================
