- Anoka County -
Anoka County was formed from parts of Benton and Ramsey counties by an act of the Minnesota Territorial Legislature on May 23, 1857. A small
portion, formerly known as Manomin County, was attached by constitutional amendment on November 2, 1869. Its neighboring counties are:
Isant (north), Chisago (northeast), Washington (east), Ramsey (southeast), Hennepin (southwest) and Sherburne (northwest).
The county is divided into thirteen townships, the whole of which contain a total area of 446
square miles. The largest city is Blaine. The county seat is Anoka.
