         CAPT. DANIEL McQUEEN who was among the veterans of the
       lake service, was seventy-six years of age when death
       called him a few days ago from his farm home at Granite
       Point, Mich., to which he had retired to spend the re-
       mainder of his earthly days. He was master of lake ves-
       sels in the sixties, having had charge, among other
       vessels, of the steamers Pacific, Columbus and J. D.
       Morton and schooners Marengo and T. D. Dale. He was
       keeper of the lights on the old channel, St. Clair
       Flats, before quitting the lakes, and was the father
       of CAPT. McQUEEN of Elyria, Ohio. He had many friends
       and acquaintances with whom he had been associated in
       olden times, in Port Huron and vicinity, and will be
       favorably remembered by many in marine circles.

         CAPT. DANIEL McQUEEN, of Harsen's Island, died at
       10 o'clock Saturday night, aged 73 years of age.
       Sometime ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis
       from which he never recovered. The deceased was
       the father of MRS. THOMAS CURRIE, of this city.
