of Althouse, Lost
Conger Fireman
Funeral services for CLIFFORD D. ALTHOUSE
the last of the four victims of the Omar D.
Conger explosion, were held at 2 p.m. today
from Falk's chapel on Military street.
Rev. J. S. Tredinnick of the First Methodist
Episcopal church conducted the services at the
chapel. A large number of the friends and
relatives of the deceased attended. The casket
was beautifully decorated with many flowers.
The local Eagles lodge of which MR. ALTHOUSE
was a member took charge of the funeral after
the religious ceremony. Members of the fraternal
organization acted as pall bearers and went in
a body to Lakeside cemetery. There the burial
was conducted with the usual fraternal honors.
MR. ALTHOUSE was fireman of the Conger. His
body was found only Wednesday near the ferry
dock at which the ship sunk. It had evidently
been held at the bottom of the river by wreckage.
