ISAAC SECORD of the township of Owosso, weary of life, its joys and sorrows, its delights and dissapointments, thought he would take the chances of a better future, and conse- quently shuffled off this mortal coil by taking a large dose of strychnine. A messenger was at once dispatched for DR. McCORMICK, but before he had got two miles on his errand, ISAAC had gone to his reward. He expressed no regret for the act, but between the paroxysms he remarked, "I am going, next one, I said I would do it and IKE SECORD never lies." He died in about an hour and a half. When the DR. arrived he found MRS. SECORD suffering from intense paroxysms of pain in the stomach, and the inference was that her husband attempted to poison her by putting the drug in her tea, of which she fortunately took but a small sip before discovering its ill taste. Under prompt treatment she was relieved of the most urgent symptoms, leaving however, a good deal of muscular soreness. On the following morning Coroner B. F. TAYLOR held an inquest on the remains, and the jury rendered a verdict in accordance with the above. MR. SECORD was among the early pioneers of this county. He had some unfortunate habits, and traits of character which made him morose and irasible by spells. He has been threatening to take his life for the past eight years and always carried a dram of strychnine in his vest pocket. ===============================================================================
