THOMPSON DIES Well Known Sanilac Man Succumbs To Lingering Illness Port Sanilac, Mich., Jan. 24 - The people of this village were shocked yesterday when the news of the death of WILLIAM THOMPSON, JR., spread among them. The deceased, who was 71 years of age, passed away Sunday following a lingering illness of several days. MR. THOMPSON came to this country over 60 years ago, and dur- ing the past 60 years has made his home at this place. He was widely known throughout the county, and was prominent in Masonic circles. The deceased is survived by a widow and two children, Mrs. W. A. OLDFIELD, and FRANK THOMPSON, both of DesMoines, Iowa. He was a brother to JOHN THOMPSON, the mer- chant here. The funeral services were held from the Congregational church, Port Sanilac at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. Mr. COMBELLOCK, officiating and the local Masonic lodge attending in a body.
