XIV. OLD SERIES, NO. 1 VOL. I NEW SERIES, NO. 16 A horrible accident occurred at John- ston's lime kiln, in East Saginaw Wednesday evening. The fire had just been removed and workmen were re- moving the lime. It was found to have wedged together at the top, and four men went on top for the purpose of dislodg- ing it. One of them, DANIEL PARKER, did not get off in time, and was carried down into the kiln. He was literally roasted alive before he could be removed. All efforts at rescue were unavailing, so firm- ly was he wedged among the stone. He was 35 years of age, and leaves a wife and three children. ===========================================================================
