Wednesday, 25 January, 1860

         Fatal Accident - On Monday morning last, JOHN DOWNING,
       an old and respectable resident of the town of Crockery,
       in this county, was found dead in the lumber woods, where
       he was engaged at work. It is probable, from the position
       in which the body was found, the skull being badly broken,
       that his death was occasioned by the accidental fall or
       slipping of a saw log, about which he was at work.
