TUPPER was born in Jonesboro, Maine, Nov. 6, 1854. Died in Pentwater Oct. 21, 1898. He was married to Miss HATTIE GARNER in 1879, and they removed to Pentwater from Ludington in 1884, where they have since resided. Mr. TUPPER was a good marine engineer, and a general mechanic. For some years he had been sailing during the summer months, and working at the factory [Pentwater Bedstead] during the winter, having charge of the dynamo and electric lighting plant of the factory. He was a member of the Masonic lodge here, also of the Odd Fellows and Ancient Order of United Workmen, in all of which he was an active, earnest worker, and univer- sally liked by all his brethren. The funeral was held Sunday forenoon at 10 o'clock, at the M. E. church, Elder JAMES DRAPER officiating under the auspicies of the I.O.O.F., of which he had been a member longer than either of the other orders, and was also largely attended by brethren of the Masonic and A.O.U.W. orders. He leaves a wife and two children, besides his parents, two sisters and one brother. MILLER SORENSEN was born in Alborg, Denmark, Oct. 23, 1856. Died in Pentwater Oct. 21, 1898. Stena Larsen, the wife who survives him, was born in the same place in June, 1860. They were married in Pent- water, June 17, 1887. Mr. SORENSEN was one of the hardest working, most faithful men in Pent- water, and was a good provider for his family. He leaves a wife, one son and two daughters - another son having died in 1891 - besides other relatives. The funeral was held from the residence across Pentwater lake, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon - the birthday of the deceased - conducted by Rev. ______, and attended by hundreds of sympathizers. TIMOTHY L. PALMER was born in Lisbon, Waukesha Co., Wisconsin, May 14, 1855, and came to Pentwater in 1880. For over a year he was in the employ of Nickerson & Collis- ter as second miller. Was married to FRANCES E. HARVEY, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, April 4, 1882. With the exception of eleven months, when he was with the New England Furniture Company, Mr. PALMER had for fifteen years been engineer for the Pentwater Bedstead Company, and was one of their most faithful and steady employes. He was a very active member of the lodge of Modern Woodsmen here, and like Mr. TUPPER, he will be sadl missed by the brothers of the order to which he belonged. He leaves a wife and two chidren - MARY, aged 14, and FRANK, aged 11. Funeral services were held by Rev. ROBERT BAILEY at the Baptist church, under the aus- picies of the M.W.A., on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, the church being full to over- flowing. The floral offerings in all three were profuse and beautiful. Aside from the general offerings, the Masonic and Odd Fellows' bodies had beautiful emblematic floral offerings for Mr. TUPPER'S funeral, as did the Modern Wood- men for that of Mr. PALMER, while for MILLER SORENSEN, who was not a member of any society, the offerings were no less lavish and beautiful. To the bereaved families, the entire commun- ity will extend its sincere sympathy, and they have the consoling thought that each of their loved ones, when called, was found in the harness, actively engaged in the faithful discharge of his duties, instead of having passed through long weeks and months of sickness and suffering. ==========================================================================
