At the time, he was at work near the bottom of the rollway, when a log gave way at the top. In trying to get out of the way, he slipped and fell, the log rolling over him and crushing him in a frightful manner. He lingered along in the greatest distress until this evening at five o'clock, when death put an end to his terrible suffering. He was a man beloved by all who knew him. His loss will be felt by the whole community. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his untimely end. ===========================================================================
