JAMES HAMLIN of Whitehall, committed suicide Wednesday by taking a dose of arsenic mixed with an arabic. Mr. and Mrs. HAMLIN formerly lived in Shelby and kept while here what is now known as the Elliott House. Domestic infilicity is the attributed cause. [Transcriber's Note: died Jan. 6, 1881, buried Mt. Hope cemetery, Shelby, MI., her first name as JULIA.
