PENTWATER, OCEANA Co., MICH.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20, 1872
VOLUME II, NUMBER 101.

       On the morning of Dec. 15th, 1872, HARVEY TOWER'S
     house and most of its contents, in the township of
     Claybanks, was burned to the ground. The house was
     discovered to be on fire about two o'clock in the
     morning, and the family barely escaped with the 
     valuable private family papers and some of their
     best articles of wearing apparel. Cause of fire
     not known. Loss about $1,400, insurance, $750.
