Firemen said the blaze started in the furnace room about 9 a.m. as classes began for the day. They said teachers ushered the children outside and sent them home as Hesperia, Newaygo, White Cloud and Fremont fire departments arrived on the scene. The frame addition to the con- crete high school housed the gym- nasium and a kitchen used for the school's hot lunch program. Damage estimates were unavailable immediately but no one was reported injured in the blaze, which firemen battled in temperatures which hovered at eight degrees above zero. =========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access more of our growing collection of FREE online information by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ ===========================================================================
