It broke out at 2:45 a.m. and consumed all the buildings on the west side of the main street, between Fourth and Fifth streets, and five buildings on the east side. The water works saved the village from total de- struction. The following are the losses: F. W. Fincher, druggist, loss $2,000; insured for $1,500 Mark A. Rice, jeweler, loss $1,500; insurance $900 John M. Cahill, barber, loss $700; no insurance S. K. Fisher, saloon, loss $2,500; no insurance H. H. Bunyea, grocery, loss $2,000; no insurance A. P. Tuttle, bakery, loss $500; insurance $400 Warner's tobacco store, loss $500; insurance $500 Peter M. Dreves, billiard hall, loss $2,000; insurance, $300 Miss Mary Nash, dressmaker, loss $400; no insurance Nielson & Co., bankers, loss $500; insurance $200 Mrs. Jepson, loss $800; insurance $500 Mrs. Pool, loss $600; insurance $400 Wm.
