The officers found KOWALESKI at home but having no charge for him they did not arrest him but went to the woods where they had been informed the still was located. The moonshiners were very clever in the locating of their still. In the thick woods they had evacu- ated and built a regular log house under ground. This was covered completely and naturally and would defy anyone to find it who had not had a good tip. The only entrance was through a hole in the ground which was covered with branches and leaves. The officers found the operator of the stills, JOE JOLLEBY asleep and quickly placed him under arrest. The outfit consisted of four stills each of 20 gallon capacity. They took 700 gallons of mash, and 24 gallons of the finished product. JOLLEBY was taken to Hart and arraigned before Justice GURNEY where he was bound over to Circuit Court under $500 bonds in default of which he is remaining in jail. Assisting Sheriff CUMMINGS in this raid were FRANK DEMMON, CHARLES WALKER of the liquor squad from Muskegon Heights and also the Muskegon Heights chief of police. ===========================================================================
