           SAMUEL YATES was born in Wiltshire, England, April 28, 1822.
	 Settled in Ionia County, Mich., in 1857, and in Hart, Oceana
	 County, in 1863, on Section 18, where he now resides, and is
	 engaged in farming, gardening, and dealing in stock. Married
	 November 14, 1860, to Mrs. SAMANTHA HATCH, who was born in
         Genesee County, N.Y., in 1828, and died October, 1864.
