           ENOCH T. MUGFORD was born in Portland, Me., January 14,
	 1829. Settled in Chicago in 1852, following the trade of 
	 carpenter and joiner. In 1854 he made Oceana County his 
	 home, and in 1858 settled in Hart Township, Section 30, 
	 where he now resides. Has held several township offices, 
	 and is now serving his seventh term as supervisor. Married, 
	 March 21, 1851, to MARTHA JANE NUTTER, who was born in 
	 Wolfsboro, N.H., September, 1828. Five children - WILLIAM E., 
	 JOSEPH B., MENZO E., JOHN P., and SUSAN M.
