           JESSE MILLS was born near Toronto, Canada, October 26,
	 1847. Settled in Hart in 1860. Enlisted, in 1863, in the 
	 Twenty-sixth Michigan Infantry. Taken prisoner at Appo-
	 mattox, June 5, 1864. Now is engaged in farming on Sec-
	 tion 22, Hart Township. Married, July 4, 1870, to AGNES 
	 GRATTEN, who was born in County Down, Ireland, July 24, 
	 1851.
