R. Page & Co., Chicago - 1882 [p. 120] DAVID BENHAM was born in Onondaga County, N.Y., May 29, 1826. Early learned the trade of carpenter and joiner, at which he worked in Tompkins County till 1865, when he made Hart, Oceana County, his home, and engaged in build- ing and contracting, doing a great portion of the building in Hart for some years. He and partner established the planing mill on Water Street, and at present, 1882, is president of the Hart Manufacturing Company. Married, May 29, 1849, MARY A. NIVER, who was born in Tompkins County, N.Y., November 12, 1830. ===============================================================================
