Page & Co., Chicago - 1882 [p. 119] GEORGE BATE was born in Hamilton, Ont., June, 1818; moved to Rochester, N.Y., in 1822, and to Lenawee County, Mich., in 1848, and engaged in the baking business. In 1865 he moved to St. Joseph County, Mich., and was in the fruit culture. In 1881 made Hart, Oceana County, his home, and is engaged in the baking and grocery business. ===============================================================================
