It is supposed that, at the time of the meloncholy occurrence, he was laboring under a fit of insanity. Some three years since he had a severe fit of sickness, from which he appears to have never fully re- covered. After a partial restoration to health, his friends saw indications that he was laboring under a mental malady, and he was sent to the Insane Asylum at Utica, N.Y., where he remained for about two years. Last fall he returned home, restored, apparently, to his right mind, and his friends saw nothing to lead them to fear another attack, until the middle of last week. On Sabbath morning he was about as usual. He shaved himself, and appeared as well, if not bet- ter, than he had been the day before. - About three o'clock he was seen to leave the house, a few hours after he was missing, and, on looking where he usually kept his razor, it was not to be found. This aroused the fears of his friends, and search was immediately made, but without suc- cess until the next morning, when he was discovered in the orchard with his throat cut as above stated. The deceased was about 25 years of age. - Pontiac Jacksonian July 14. ===========================================================================
