The deceased came to Pentwater in the spring of 1865, and was soon after followed by his brother JAMES. Early in 1866 the two brothers started a dray line in Pentwater under the firm name of ATWOOD Bros., which they successfully operated together, controlling that business in the place, until 1874, when they disolved partnership, JOHN with his family removing to Fremont, and JAMES a few years after, going to Columbia City, Ind., where he now resides. At Fremont MR. ATWOOD has been very successful, especially in securing and maintaining a good name, which is a more valuable leg- acy to his family than wealth. He was strictly honest, and at his funeral, which occurred on Monday of the present week, it was said that he died without an enemy. His wife and daughter HATTIE (who is now married and the mother of two bright little children) survive him. JAMES, his only brother, attended the funeral. =========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access more of our growing collection of FREE online information by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ ===========================================================================
