(Larkins) Monroe, and was born in Summit Co., Ohio, January 26, 1847. His parents moved to the State of New York, and afterward to Michigan. In the spring of 1864, his father purchased 160 acres of land, which Charles assisted in cultivating. This farm is now owned by T. C. Grundy. In Dayton Township, Nov. 9, 1873, he married Kate, daughter of Lyman and Mary Britton. Their children are: Charles B., Willie R., Georgie F. and Ora B.
