Cram, David

David Cram, farmer, section 5, Goodwell Township, was born Jan. 18, 1833,
in Canada, near Turkey Point, and is the son of William and Margaret
(Hadley) Cram. The father was a native of Scotland and the mother of
England.

He had the rearing common to the sons of farmers, and at a very early age
was brought to face the necessity of carving out his own fortune. He spent
some years working as an assistant in the saw-mills and as a lumberman,
after which he came to Newaygo County and began to improve a tract of 120
acres of land, on which he remained some years; next, he resided for a time
in Kent County, and finally returned to his original location, of which he
has since retained possession.

Mr. Cram was been twice married. His first wife was Sarah, nee Hall, by
whom he had three children, namely: Mary, James and an infant deceased. In
1880 Mr. C. married Isabella Sharp, who was born Oct. 25, 1862, in Howell,
Livingston Co., Mich., a daughter of Richard and Lydia (Howell) Sharp.
