ANGELINE SIBLEY, Aged 96, Who Lived Here Many Years The funeral of MRS. ANGELINE SIBLEY was held at 10:30 a.m. today from the residence of MRS. NORAH AKINS, 60 Monroe avenue, Rev. J. H. Strickland officiating. MRS. SIBLEY, whose maiden name was ANGELINE KATES, was born in Onondaigua county, N.Y., in 1804, and was 96 years of age. About forty years or more ago she came to Muskegon, to be near her brother, who was a brother-in-law of MRS. JOHN WITHERELL. In '61 MRS. SIBLEY went to Grand Rapids where she was married to WILLIAM SIBLEY. He was not long after killed in the civil war. Returning to Muskegon with a babe she went to reside with MRS. JOHN SHEPHARD, her brother's mother-in-law, in North Muskegon. After MRS. SHEPHARD'S death some years later, MRS. SIBLEY resided alone in North Muskegon until two months ago. As a soldier's widow she long drew a pension of $12 per month. During the last few years she became quite feeble, being partially blind and very deaf, but she retained her intellect to the last. The ladies of the Woman's Relief Corps looked after her and finally, two months ago, she was brought across the lake and placed in the Home of the Friendless. Two weeks ago, in order that she might be given still closer care, she was put in the charge of MRS. ROSA AKINS, 60 Monroe avenue, where she died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. She was only bedridden the last week. She leaves a son who resides in Marinette, Wis. ===============================================================================
