         SHEPARD - JOHN S. SHEPARD aged 78, died at five
       o'clock this morning. The funeral will occur at
       two o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the residence
       No. 96 Apple street.

         The funeral of JOHN S. SHEPARD took place yester-
       day afternoon. MR. SHEPARD was the father of MRS.
       JOHN WITHEREL (sic) and had lived here nearly forty
       years.
