The Muskegon Chronicle
Friday, 17 March, 1916

         ELI GREEN, a pioneer of Muskegon county, having
       been born near Ravenna 67 years ago and lived at
       his birthplace and at Muskegon Heights continuously
       ever since, died this morning at the home of a
       daughter, MRS. DANIEL GARDNER, Summitt avenue
       Muskegn Heights. MR. GREEN was born on a farm near
       Ravenna, 67 years ago and lived there until about
       eight years ago when he came to make his home with
       his daughter.
       
         MR. GREEN was married to ESTHER HARRINGTON in
       1864. She died about two years ago. He leaves two
       daughters and four sons; MRS. JOHN [*]EASTON, and
       MRS. DANIEL GARDNER, of Muskegon Heights, HENRY
       and LEONARD of Muskegon and LOUIS and GEORGE of
       Muskegon Heights.

         The funeral of ELI GREEN will be held this after-
       noon at 4 o'clock at the residence. The remains will
       be taken to Ravenna where funeral services will be
       conducted tomorrow afternoon at the Ravenna M.E.
       church.
