JULIA ANN WITHERELL Confined to Her Bed Six Weeks MRS. JULIA ANN WITHERELL, 34 E. Muskegon avenue, the second oldest resident in the city, has been severely ill for six weeks. During the past few days she has shown signs of improvement, and her friends now think that, not- withstanding she is 87 years of age, she will again be able to be around. She is being cared for by her daughter, MRS. FANNIE SHEPARD. Her daughter-in-law, MRS. JOEL C. WITHERELL, of Six Corners, has been here five weeks. She returned home yesterday. MRS. WITHERELL is one of the oldest persons in Muskegon. Next Wednesday, October 24, she will have reached her 87th birthday. She came to Muskegon in the spring of 1847, 47 years ago. The family landed in Grand Haven April 17, 1847, having come from Chicago on the schooner Vermont, Captain McIntosh. The family has lived at 34 E. Muskegon avenue 31 consecutive years, having moved there in the fall of 1863. During MRS. WITHERELL'S illness her son, CAPT. JOHN J. WITHERELL, of Menominee, was here two weeks. He returned home nearly two weeks ago.
