To reach this cemetery in Ravenna, driving north on Main Street, turn
right onto Heights Ravenna Road. Cemetery will be at the end of the
    road.

The Ravenna Township Cemetery was established about 1873 in its
present location off Main Street. The earliest burial date is on
the tombstone of Margaret House Shimel, wife of Jacob Shimel, who
died in 1849. The cemetery was run by a Citizens' Association
which dissolved in 1941, giving the cemetery to the Township.

Prior to 1941 there was a cemetery called Forest Lawn located
along the banks of Crockery Creek. All of these burials were
transferred to Ravenna Cemetery beginning in 1894.

The Ravenna Township Cemetery is now owned and maintained by
Ravenna Township. Clerk, Penny Sherman is in charge of the
cemetery with sextons, James and Ruth Irish, doing the burials, in
        2007.

I have compiled these cemetery records from owners cards,
obituaries, the burial records, death cards, burial permits and
the sextons records from Ravenna Township where I work. I started
them back in 1998 and I recently updated them in August of 2011.
