The widow of ETHAN SATTERLEE, who has been insane for several years, on account of her violence has been confined in a small building near the house of her daughter, MRS. CHARLES MACOMBER. This small building took fire when no one was near except MRS. MACOMBER, and before assistance could arrive the inside was all in flames, and MRS. SATTERLEE could not be rescued. Her remains have been dug out of the ruins. Of course, it will never be known how the building took fire. One phase of the ****** afflicting the deceased, was a propensity to get into the fire, and hence she was separated from the fire in her room by upright wooden barriers, between which she could not force even her hands. It is surmised that she tore a slat from her bed with which she pushed some of her bed clothing to the fire, thus at last, attaining the end for which she had struggled so long. Transcriber's Note: The 1850 Census of Montcalm County records the wife of "Eathan" Satterly as Anna, age 59. ===========================================================================
