         The Greenville Independent records the following
       melancholy occurrence:
         ABRAM MANN, living three miles and a half north-
       east of Greenville, committed suicide on the morn-
       ing of the 3d inst., by cutting his throat with a
       razor. The deceased is said to have been gloomy
       and despondent for some time past, and occasionally
       acted as if his mind was unsettled.
