He was engaged in rolling a log up an inclined plane on a skid, other logs behind him wait- ing their turn, when the cant-hook he was using slip- ped its hold, and the log rolling back violently pressed him against the log behind him, crushing in his breast. It was the work of but a moment and the light of life was forever extinguished. ===========================================================================
