Howard City, Mich., May 12. - JOE HARVEY, 20 years old, employed at the sideboard factory, Wednesday night killed his wife, uncle and grandmother, attempted to kill his baby, wounded his father-in-law, shot at his sister-in-law and a teacher named Miss LaBAR, and finally tried to kill him- self. HARVEY lived with his uncle and grand- mother, who had brought him up from child- hood, their home being one mile north of town. The uncle's name was ROBERT PIERSON, and HARVEY'S grandmother was 70 years old. There were no witnesses to the tragedy, which took place after HARVEY returned home at seven o'clock. HARVEY was brought to town by Sheriff UNDERHILL, and is closely guarded. As yet no motive for the crime can be given. The young man has always borne a good reputation. ==========================================================================
