Friday, 23 July 1869

         On the 10th of July, 1869, JOHN STEINBRENNER,
       aged 19, was drowned in the Huron River, Monroe
       County. He was employed on the steamer Mayflower,
       of Newport. His body was not recovered until the
       following Tuesday, and brought to this city on
       Wednesday, the 14th, for interment.
