         Monroe, Jan. 23. - OLIVER LADUE, a merchant of this
       city and one of the oldest and most prominent French
       citizens of Monroe County, was siezed with an apop-
       leptic fit while returning to his store from home this
       afternoon and almost instantly expired. Medical aid
       was summoned, but without avail. MR. LADUE was seventy
       years of age and had for most of his life resided in
       Monroe County. He was a conspicuous type of the robust,
       vigorous and athletic French habitants of Canadian
       descent.
