The Hillsdale Standard
Tuesday, 12 November 1867

         THOMAS GREGORY, a resident of Frenchtown, was
       killed by the cars a short distance this side of
       Swan Creek, on Tuesday night. He was given to in-
       toxication, and is supposed to have been intoxi-
       cated at the time of the accident, as he had been
       to Swan Creek, and was returning home. He was
       found soon after the night train had passed, with
       both legs crushed above the knees. He lived but a
       short time after he was found.
