         FRANK B. CLARKE, Register of Deeds for Monroe
       County, died in Monroe last week. MR. CLARKE was
       elected Clerk of Monroe County in 1860 and served
       one term. In 1874 he was chosen Register of Deeds,
       and was re-elected in 1876 and 1878 by increased
       majorities. He has been a victim of consumption 
       for the past ten years.
