When the steamer Midland City was making her trip from Saginaw to this place, a passenger, MR. CHARLES WYMAN, a citizen of our county, while standing in the bow of the boat, was seized with a fit, and, falling into the river, was drowned. He was not seen at the moment he fell, but one of the men on a scow that was towed behind the steamboat saw him as he swept by with the current, and succeeded in stopping him for a few seconds by catching a boat-hook into his coat. The current, however, together with the progress of the boat, was so strong as to tear the hook out, and the body, sinking immediately, was lost sight of. He has been subject to fits for several years, and was advised to keep from the side of the boat, but, seeing no danger, ventured, and, as misfortune willed, was taken with a fit at that moment. The place of the fatal and melancholy accident was about four miles below Mr. Albright's brick yard. - Midland Sentinal ===============================================================================
