He was a resident of Midland county 60 years and the first sheriff of the county. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bay City Tribune Friday, 9 July, 1915 Midland, Mich., - July 8. - The body of WILLIAM MIXER, who died Sunday at Grass Lake, was brought here Wednes- day for burial. He was 97 years old and was for 60 years a resident of Midland county. He was the first sheriff of Midland county, and took the county's first convicted man to Jackson prison overland in a lumber wagon, the trip taking seven days. ===============================================================================
