O., Rustford, is a son of Benjamin and Polly (Hone) Bacon, the father a native of New England and the mother born in the State of New York: both are deceased. Mr. Bacon was born in the State of New York, Feb. 14, 1817. He spent the first thirty years of his life in the Empire State, in Canada and Michigan. His residence was fixed in Canada until the spring of 1871, when he came to Deerfield and bought 40 acres of forest land. He has improved 20 acres and has added 70 acres since by purchase. He was married in 1848 to Mary, daughter of John and Jane (Moul) Leach, natives of Canada. The names of Mr. and Mrs. B’s 12 children, all living, are as follows: Mary J., Gad, Reuben, Annie, Margaret, Timothy, David M., Eleanor, Barney, Henry, William and Emerald. Mr. Bacon is independent in politics. ======================================================================
