W. A. CARTIER DIES AT HOME Widow of Donor of Athletic Field at Notre Dame MRS. WARREN A. CARTIER died this morning at her home, 409 East Ludington avenue, after an illness of four months' duration. Born MISS CATHERINE DEMPSEY in Madison, Wis., she came to Ludington as the bride of the late WARREN A. CARTIER, one of Muchigan's outstanding citizens and the donor of the Notre Dame university athletic field. MRS. CARTIER was a devout member of St. Simon's church. She is survived by two sons, MORGAN E. CARTIER, of Grand Rapids and VINCENT G. CARTIER of Winnetka, Ill.; a sister MISS ESTHER DEMPSEY of Madison, Wis., and several grandchildren. MR. CARTIER died in 1934 and MRS. CARTIER also was preceded in death by her eldest son, RAY CARTIER, in 1936. Final rites will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Simon's church with burial in Pere Marquette cemetery. The body will be taken to the CARTIER residence this afternoon from Dorrell funeral home. Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 4 P.M. Sunday at the CARTIER home and the parish rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday. ===========================================================================
